Eco-schools in the curriuclum

 

Issues connected with the environment, global warming, climate change, peace and justice, global development, trade justice and aid to the developing world are dealt with in many subjects, especially Geography, RE and PSHE.

 

The Eco Schools team has instigated the following curricular developments:

 

Technology department

 

An introductory module for Year 7 to raise awareness of Fair Trade.

 

Geography department

 

A module on issues connected with global access to water, global resources, fair-trade and ethics related to the global fashion industry.

 

PSHE department

 

Lessons on Fair Trade taught by Year 12 Eco Schools team members.

 

RE Department

 

Autumn Term unit on Human Rights and Spring Term unit on Global Poverty taught to all Year 12 students as part of Extended Project preparation.
