Hagley Catholic High School pupils and teachers have
responded to this year’s homelessness appeal with their usual generosity and
enthusiasm. St.Basil’s homeless project, based not just in Birmingham but aslo
in Kidderminster, will benefit from 86 bottles of shower gel, collected by Year
7 pupils, with 7 Bede coming in as the top collectors.
Year 8 responded with a magnificent total of 459
toothbrushes, 241 of which were collected by one form, 8 Kenelm!
Year 9 were set the slightly more difficult task of
searching out sponges and flannels. A
huge parcel of 78 sponges and 140 flannels has been packed up ready for
delivery to the charity. Congratulations go especially to 9 Gregory, with an
amazing 79 items.
Year 10 have been busy bringing in bottles of washing up
liquid and the collection amounted to an excellent total of 84 bottles, with 10
Bede topping the bill with a contribution of 28.
The last few weeks have been a busy time for Year 11, as
they prepare for Mock GCSE examinations. Despite this, they supplied 39 rolls
of black sacks and bin liners which will be very useful for the homelessness
project.
The Sixth Form were determined not be left out of the
project, and Year 12 tutors and students have been busily buying up local
supplies of mouthwash and toothpaste, their total coming in at 42 bottles of
mouthwash and 90 tubes of toothpaste.
The response from 12 Anselm was quite overwhelming, with 70
items supplied by this one tutor group.
MANY THANKS TO ALL TUTORS, PUPILS AND STUDENTS FOR THEIR
