Many congratulations to Liam Crowley in year 11 who has achieved an A grade in AS Level Geology. Liam sat the first two modules in May 2008, when he was just 14 years old, taking the third and final module in January of this year to complete the qualification, gaining the highest grade possible, all before even starting his GCSE exams! Very well done Liam - our youngest Geologist!

On the 5th and 6th March, 3 members of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and maths) Club competed against 2 other schools in the Team QinetiQ CREST Competition Final and were awarded 1st Prize, which includes a visit to the school form Ben Fogle, James Cracknell and Ed Coats.
The competition was to complete a CREST Bronze award project to design a jacket for the cold environment of Antarctica. The finalists from this competition were invited to attend The Big Bang: Uk Young Scientists and Engineers Fair, which took place in the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, London. At the event they had to give a 15 minute presentation on their project and then be interviewed by the panel of judges. They also got to meet Ben Fogle, James Cracknell and Ed Coats and hear all about their recent race to the south pole.
